Provides drafting/graphics support for architects/engineers, archives and manages facility drawings and specifications, archives and manages utility maps and field notes, coordinates utility location of Tech-owned utilities.

 

Mission Statement

Support all aspects of the Physical Plant Engineering Services mission and philosophy in providing drafting/graphics support for architects/engineers, while coordinating utility location efforts of Tech-owned utilities. Our focus shall also be the continual development of a program of automated facility drawing/specification archive and utility map management, including an automated mapping/facilities management/geographical information system (AM/FM/GIS).

Utilities

Texas Tech University is a member of the Texas Excavation Safety Society and the South Plains of Texas Damage Prevention Council.

What does this mean?  You may now request Tech-owned utilities to be located by simply calling 1-800-Dig-TESS (1-800-344-8377).


**REMINDER**

Texas State law requires all excavators to call the Texas Excavation Safety System (DigTess) One Call Center at 1-800-Dig-TESS (1-800-344-8377) at least 48 hours prior to beginning excavation.
